Twitter Followers Demographic Break Down

A lot of people may be interested in the various types of followers they have on Twitter and curious about the different aspects of their followers.  Companies or brands are probably a lot more interested in knowing this information so that they can market to their consumers more efficiently.  Just recently Schmap released a tool that is capable of breaking down the demographics of a person or business's followers on Twitter.

This company is a social website that became recognized when they launched the first real-time city guides covering more than 400 locations across the globe.  The tool that they just released to provide demographics on Twitter followers is known as "Know Your Twitter Followers."  It is a free service that allows any individual, company, or brand to instantly access a demographic analysis of their Twitter followers.  The free analysis provides information about followers such as gender, marital status, profession, likes and interests, and location by country and U.S. state.  Their is an upgraded version that provides more detail that one can pay for and it can cost up to $150 based upon various factors.

I believe this is a pretty neat and useful tool for businesses and brands to explore.  It can reveal information about who is following so that they can better understand their consumers and capitalize on gaining more information about them.  It is always good in the marketing world to know your consumers as best as possible and this tool can help reveal the demographics of the people interested in what the company or brand offers.

  1. I think this tool will be great for marketers or anyone wanting to understand an area's demographics. By studying the demographic analysis, companies will be better equipped at knowing exactly who their audience is, and even how to better target them. I definitely think that this company will have tremendous success with this tool and numerous companies will spend the money for the upgraded version. It would be a good idea for a program like this to be developed for Facebook also, if it hasn't already.
